Cet article explore le rôle intégral de la prière dans la vie et la mission de Saint Vincent de Paul, contrastant avec l'image populaire qui le présente comme un simple homme d'action. Il met en évidence la place centrale qu'occupait la prière dans le travail de Saint Vincent, façonnant ses actions caritatives et fondant son dévouement au service des pauvres. L'article met l'accent sur la dualité de la vie de Saint-Vincent, équilibrant la contemplation et l'action. L'approche de la prière de Saint Vincent, profondément enracinée dans l'humilité et la recherche constante de la volonté de Dieu, était vitale pour la survie et l'efficacité de la Congrégation de la Mission (CM) et des Filles de la Charité. Saint Vincent considérait la prière comme essentielle à la vitalité spirituelle, offrant une orientation, un renouveau et une compréhension claire des désirs de Dieu.
