La Mission Ad Gentes à l’aube du cinquième centenaire de la fondation de la CM : Point de vue d’un jeune missionnaire

Esta es una de las firmes convicciones expresadas por el Superior General de la Congregación de la Misión, Padre Tomaž MAVRIČ, durante la 43ª Asamblea General para revitalizar el carisma vicenciano en los albores del quinto centenario de la fundación de la CM : Durante los próximos seis años, espero fervientemente que el espíritu de la Misión Ad Gentes siga creciendo. Espero que las Provincias, Viceprovincias y Regiones, que actualmente cuentan con muchas respuestas positivas por parte de los jóvenes, es decir, de los que tienen muchas vocaciones, estén dispuestas a abrir nuevas misiones en países en los que todavía no estamos presentes. Desde la llegada del Concilio Vaticano II, el decreto Ad Gentes sobre la actividad sigue siendo uno de los documentos esenciales de la reflexión misionera. Como sabemos, este decreto insiste en la naturaleza misionera de toda la Iglesia. Nos damos cuenta hoy, con los nuevos cambios en el mundo, de que la noción de territorio como "región geográfica" para llevar a cabo la misión ya no se sostiene. La preocupación permanente de la misión se centra más en el ser humano, en su condición, que en un espacio geográfico. Tanto en África como en América Latina y Asia, la misión Ad Gentes, al tiempo que mantiene el aspecto catecumenal, quiere ser también una misión de liberación y de transformación de la condición social.
