San Vicente de Paúl (1581-1660) se convirtió en una figura fundamental en la Francia del siglo XVII, una época marcada por reformas religiosas y transformaciones sociales tras el Concilio de Trento. Como sacerdote, dedicó su vida al cuidado pastoral, la formación del clero y las obras de caridad, fundando la Congregación de la Misión y las Hijas de la Caridad. Su espiritualidad y liderazgo estuvieron profundamente influenciados por el panorama sociopolítico, incluyendo el galicanismo y la relación entre la Iglesia y el Estado. A pesar de sus orígenes humildes, Vicente se convirtió en asesor de la monarquía francesa y desempeñó un papel crucial en las reformas eclesiásticas. Su extensa correspondencia y conferencias proporcionan una visión de su visión teológica y su enfoque práctico del ministerio. Este estudio explora el legado de Vicente de Paúl en el contexto más amplio de la renovación católica del siglo XVII, destacando sus contribuciones a la educación, la organización y la proyección social de la Iglesia, que siguen dando forma a la espiritualidad vicenciana en la actualidad.
