Saint Vincent de Paul (1581–1660) emerged as a pivotal figure in 17th-century France, an era marked by religious reforms and social transformations following the Council of Trent. As a priest, he dedicated his life to pastoral care, the formation of clergy, and charitable works, founding the Congregation of the Mission and the Daughters of Charity. His spirituality and leadership were deeply influenced by the socio-political landscape, including Gallicanism and the relationship between Church and State. Despite coming from humble beginnings, Vincent became an advisor to the French monarchy and played a crucial role in ecclesiastical reforms. His extensive correspondence and conferences provide insight into his theological vision and practical approach to ministry. This study explores Vincent de Paul's legacy within the broader context of 17th-century Catholic renewal, highlighting his contributions to the education, organization, and social outreach of the Church, which continue to shape Vincentian spirituality today.
