Este estudio introductorio presenta las aportaciones originales de tres estudiosos vicencianos italianos —Luigi Mezzadri, Giuseppe Toscani y Erminio Antonello— para una comprensión renovada del espíritu y de la espiritualidad de san Vicente de Paúl. Escritas en el contexto de la renovación de la Congregación de la Misión después del Concilio Vaticano II, sus obras no buscan simplemente narrar la vida de san Vicente, sino ofrecer síntesis integrales que iluminan los fundamentos teológicos, espirituales e históricos del carisma vicenciano. Mezzadri destaca la primacía de la caridad mediante una interpretación históricamente fundamentada de la vida de san Vicente; Toscani desarrolla una teología de la «mística de los pobres», centrada en el amor de Cristo como núcleo de la existencia cristiana; y Antonello propone una «estética de la mirada», destacando la caridad como una percepción espiritual modelada por la fe. En conjunto, estas perspectivas complementarias siguen enriqueciendo la formación vicenciana, la reflexión teológica, la identidad misionera y la renovación permanente de la Congregación de la Misión.
