La dimensione contemplativa della nostra spiritualità

Este estudio sostiene que un misionero dedicado a la evangelización y al servicio de los pobres es un hombre de contemplación. A menudo, algunos creían que cierta laboriosidad no podía ir unida a una visión contemplativa de las cosas y de la vida. Sin embargo, la vida activa y la contemplativa no se excluyen mutuamente. Hoy es imposible pensar en estructurar una actividad misionera sin incluir la dimensión contemplativa. ¿Y cómo articular acción y contemplación? En el breve espacio de esta reflexión, intentaré resaltar la fecundidad de la indicación de la AG 2022, que asigna primacía en el área de la espiritualidad al redescubrimiento de la dimensión contemplativa en nuestras vidas. En los años 50, la espiritualidad vicenciana se definía como "espiritualidad de la acción". Esta expresión pretendía calificar el compromiso del cristiano en el mundo. Sin embargo, la fórmula, que pasó de moda hasta los años 70, se prestaba a interpretaciones ambiguas, hasta el punto de que Dodin prefería hablar de "mística de la acción religiosa", Ibáñez: "mística en la acción", Toscani: "mística de los pobres", Maloney: "mística de la caridad". Hoy más que nunca necesitamos una "fe encarnada" y una "caridad inspirada". Necesitamos una fe que se traduzca necesariamente en "acciones por hacer". Del mismo modo que necesitamos una caridad que nazca de Dios y vuelva a Dios y se convierta en expresión de un amor más grande, Cristo. En el celo misionero, en la atención a los pobres, en la entrega al servicio, llega un bien mayor: el amor salvador de Dios.
