La Recepción del Pensamiento Agustiniano en la Espiritualidad de San Vicente de Paúl

This study examines the reception of Saint Augustine's thought in the spirituality of Saint Vincent de Paul, with the aim of demonstrating how the founder of the Congregation of the Mission embraced and reinterpreted some of the principal theological insights of the Bishop of Hippo. The research follows a historical-theological methodology based on an analysis of the Complete Works of Saint Vincent de Paul (Sígueme edition), compared with the writings of Saint Augustine, as well as the Magisterium of the Church and specialized scholarly studies. The study focuses particularly on four major themes: the primacy of grace, ongoing conversion, community life, and charity as the expression of mission. The findings show that Saint Vincent did not merely repeat Augustinian doctrine but received, developed, and reinterpreted it within a missionary spirituality centered on the service of the poor, offering an original synthesis that remains highly relevant for the life and mission of the Church today.
